Hello 👋🏼

My name is Liza  - A South African content creator and passionate advocate for exploring and supporting local.

Whether it’s shining light on lesser known businesses, uncovering a deeper story behind every day spots or introducing you to my friends, the colourful characters, that make my city what it is today.

This is the space where many years of research, exploration and dedication culminates into one single resource. Aimed at helping you appreciate this wonderful place I call home as much as I do.

My real passion is in sustainable development and in realising positive change in South Africa. I hold a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, followed by a postgraduate qualification in International Studies. But I’ve learnt that change can’t only live in theory books and policy documents. It is something that is practiced, in small and meaningful ways, every day.

As a young South African with access, I’ve chosen to dedicate my resources, knowledge and skills to projects that celebrate and uplift my country. Simply because I know I am nothing without its people — those who have shaped me into who and what I am today. My hope is that the stories we highlight inspire you to hold some of that same mentality, or even just a deeper appreciation for the community around you. Enjoy exploring!

The Living History of Cape Town’s Adderley Street Flower Market

The Adderley Street Flower Market is more than a place to buy blooms — it’s a living thread in Cape Town’s cultural fabric, woven with stories, laughter, and generations of skill. Each bouquet reflects not only the region’s botanical beauty, but also the history of the women who have shaped this space.
